Where Art meets Craft while i Play with Design

Like Magic

Hey! finally found a little time to tell you about my recent trip to LA ^_^ I’m still so very excited about all the things I got to see and learn at AWLA, returned a little tired but completely motivated and inspired by all the wonderful peeps I got to meet there specially the lovely  :: Alma Loveland :: her husband Mike Loveland and cute son Oliver, the Super Talented  .: Nicole Hill :. and the Funny-Crafty Andy Kane all wonderful instructors/teachers by way that made this unplanned trip totally worth it, if you ever have an Art Weekend near your city I encourage you to take at least one class so you can see for yourself why I’m going all bonkers here :)

I enjoyed my photo classes the most specially studio lighting , I was a little nervous because my DSLR camera arrived two days before the class and didn’t knew nothing about it but Nicole’s class was like magic, it all makes sense now ^_^ and the fun part is that I got to  shoot a real model and also learned how to set up the lights and prep the studio. Alma’s class was pure fun, she’s amazing at spilling all the tips and tricks to get you flowing, I was a little rusty with CS4 because I’ve been working on Inkscape and GIMP these past two years but now thanks to Alma and Mike I’m refreshed and rocking CS4 again, oh! and did I mention that I printed my own tote bag? Andy was super helpful n fun to work with, he’s full of energy.

And last but not least I got to meet Tristan aka Miss B she’s so sweet and amazing, I’ve been reading her BLOG before she started the bright side project It feels so good to get to know the person you’ve been reading, her blog, work and thoughts have been a powerful lift up when I get in to those funky unproductive depression phases, sadly because I’m shy and a total wus I forgot to thank her personally for that ^_^ ohh and Ariel Gordon was there too she makes rad jewelry owns an amazing jacket and has great hair!

So as you imagine I had a wonderful time :) now I have to keep up with my never ending work and practice practice my new skills.I’m so grateful  that I got to meet all these kindred spirits specially you Tristan, It gets kind of lonely here at the Mexican border,  yay! for the interwebs ^_^ right?
